Building Digital Confidence in Young Adults
The Digital Interview Lab supports young adults to develop workplace-ready skills through practical Word and Excel training combined with realistic mock interviews. Participants build confidence with essential digital tools while exploring their career interests, creating pathways to better employment opportunities and economic inclusion.
Overcoming the Digital Skills Gap
Across the UK, the digital skills gap among working adults is a well-documented challenge that continues to impact both individuals and the economy:
- 18% of UK adults lack essential digital skills needed for the workplace
- The digital skills gap costs the UK economy £63 billion per year
- 82% of jobs require digital skills, but many young people leave education without workplace-ready competencies
- 75% of workers want to upskill when faced with jobs requiring digital skills they don’t have
The Digital Interview Lab seeks to provide an answer to this challenge by intervening early – equipping young people with the digital confidence and workplace skills they need before they enter the job market. Rather than addressing skills gaps after they’ve formed, we’re building foundations for success from the start.
